Yesterday was my birthday. Generally speaking, I don't like much fanfare. I'm not a 'have a birthday party' kind of guy, but I did take the day off of work, so that was cool. I had some nice plans, but I did absolutely nothing that I planned to do. But I did have fun. Here is what I had planned:
1) Sleep till noon
2) Go out to restaurant with wife.
3) Veg out and play WoW.
4) Go to bed early.
That was the plan, and it was looking mighty fun. Let's do a recap of what actually happened:
I slept in. Not till noon, but at least I didn't wake up with the alarm. Always good times.
Hung out with the wife. Very good times. We didn't go out to lunch, but she went out for lunch and brought me back stuff. I really do love her, and not just because of the boobs and the fact that she sometimes brings me stuff (Though lets be honest, they both help her case...).
Didn't even login to my computer. Weird (for me).
Watched Smallville. I'm up to Season 6 now. Shana got me Seasons 5, 6, and 7 for my Birthday. Technically she gave me Season 5 last week, due to my amazing persuasiveness (or 'begging', if you want to use layman terms.)
I also got my new mouse in the mail. It is a gaming mouse and it is AWESOME.
Oh hey, side note, that last statement reminds me that I did go on the computer...I guess I'm a liar. I only was on a few minutes to play with my mouse though (no, that isn't a masturbation euphemism...you have a dirty mind).
Helped my son out with his swing. Think we figured out the footwork a little better, and I found out that he is closing his eyes when he swings...probably why he isn't hitting the ball. Worked with him for a while after school to try and fix it, and I saw MAJOR improvement in his form. We then went to go hit up the batting cages to test everything out, but they were closed. Bummer. Still, the practice netted a big improvement to his swing.
I'm making a note in my brain (where all the good notes go) to practice with him a couple more times before Saturday's game. Got to get that kid a hit so he can get his confidence up. His throwing and catching skills need work too, but really the kid needs to just smack the living hell out of a ball first and remember why he likes playing baseball.
Watched the Heroes season finale. WHAT A DUMB FINALE. Screw you Heroes, you SUCK. The epic fight between Sylar, Peter, and Nathan TOOK PLACE BEHIND A CLOSED DOOR?!?!?!?
Who came up with this money-saving idea? Fire THAT GUY. And kick THAT GUY in the balls a few times while he is packing up his stuff. What a stupid human being THAT GUY is. Save money on Tracy morphing out of the kitchen sink or whatever later in the episode. Hell, save money by FIRING ALI LARTER in the first place. Save money on anything else possible, and give me a fight between Peter and Sylar. GIMME GIMME GIMME. And will somebody in the writers room give Sylar some damn GONADS? Why is Danko still alive? Why didn't Sylar kill him? Hell, I could make a long list of the people Sylar SHOULD have killed, if he was actually the psychopath killing machine that we all want him to be. He is a KILLER! Make him...KILL.
It was the dumbest Season finale I have ever seen, and an absolute disappointment on almost every level. Afterward I watched the 'Chuck' season finale (yay Tivo!), and they completely blew me away. Was conversely one of the BEST season finale's. Heroes completely SUCKED. Chuck used to be a 'filler' show that I watched because it was before Heroes. It had a hot girl on it, and didn't make me want to vomit. Now I barely even want to tune into Heroes at all and I am really starting to like Chuck.
BTW, I hear Chuck is 'on the bubble' for cancellation. NBC, if you cancel Chuck before Heroes, I will hate you so much...
Anyway, I had a good day.
